Emphasis Week Checklist

Photocopy enough prayer guides to distribute to mission study groups and your prayer ministry team during your emphasis week. The originals are found in the Coordinator’s guide and online.

Distribute the 2007 NCMO bulletin inserts (samples available for order included in this packet). Use one on the first Sunday and one on the second Sunday during the Week of Prayer. (As a time saver, have ushers hand them out along with the worship service bulletins or have RAs and GAs stand with ushers to hand them out.)

Include North Carolina Missions Offering envelopes in the bulletin or place them in advance in the pew racks.

Focus a portion of the “kick-off” Sunday service on the ministries of North Carolina missions. Encourage your pastor to preach on the theme “Are You Listening.”

Conduct a prayer ministry throughout the week dedicated to the offering emphasis. Pray for people who will participate in missions opportunities, for those who will give generously in support of missions, and for those whose lives will be touched through the ministries made possible by the NC Missions Offering.

Show one or two of the video segments during the announcements and/or offertory time on the first Sunday.

According to what you have planned, show a final video segment and conduct a short ceremony to receive the offering as part of worship on the second Sunday.
