Continue praying for the NCMO and Week of Prayer emphasis in your church. Pray for people who will participate in mission opportunities and for those who will be reached through ministries made possible by the North Carolina Missions Offering.
Promote the North Carolina Missions Offering in your church newsletter, worship bulletin, Wednesday evening prayer sheet, on your church’s website, etc. Clip art is provided on this website. Consider creating a link from your church’s website to the offering website.
Create a bulletin board in a high-traffic area of the church to highlight the 2007 NC Missions Offering and Week of Prayer. A poster is included in this promotional guide, and additional copies are available upon request from the Baptist State Convention. Clip articles from the Biblical Recorder, Tarheel Talk, Baptist on Mission, and other publications about North Carolina Baptist missions. Include photos of your church’s mission outreach projects during the last year.
Create a table display for your church’s communion table, the foyer, or other prominent entryway adjacent to your worship center. Use samples of the promotional resources as well as other items that illustrate how your church is involved in missions.
Mail a letter and a NC Missions Offering envelope to members of the congregation. If a special mailing is not possible, look for an opportunity to combine with another scheduled mailing.
Conduct educational programs you have scheduled to focus on North Carolina missions.
Organize a recognition service for those church members who support North Carolina missions by “going” to do missions work.
Recruit church members for a NCMO prayer ministry to pray throughout the missions emphasis week.
Plan a short ceremony for receiving the offering during the worship service on the second emphasis Sunday. (Consider a special way the children can be included, such as setting up a table at the front where one or two adults can receive and display the children’s offering banks as the children bring them forward.)
